(Contributed photo) Losch Services Inc., a plumbing and heating company in Schuylkill Haven, bought Wolf's Commercial Refrigeration based in Reading. The purchase was on Thursday for an undisclosed amount. Losch, which was founded in 1929, will add five new jobs to its store on Center Avenue, where it will also sell national brands of coolers, chillers, freezers, ice makers and long-draw tap systems, in addition to Wolf’s on Laurel Street in Reading. Losch currently employs 13 people at its Center Avenue store and Wolf's has two employees. “We are excited to bring more jobs to the region,” said Ralph “Butch” Young, president of Losch, who will own and operate both stores. The two established companies, which have longtime roots in the communities, will retain their names and locations. Joe Mrochko, a spokesman for the Losch, said it was important to retain the names because the two brands have name recognition in Berks and Schuylkill counties. “Butch shares our commitment to customer service and we are pleased they came forward,” said Mike Wolf, second-generation owner of Wolf’s Commercial Refrigeration, which had operated for 68 years. Wolf said he will continue in an advisory role during the transition.
